Best flower farms in Thailand

Traveling to Thailand soon? Other than temples, night market in Bangkok, and beaches in Phuket, Thailand is also known for stunning mountain scenery and flower farms.

A nature trip is a must when you are planning to travel to Thailand. Here are five of its most beautiful and picturesque flower farms to visit:

1. Singha Park

Singha Park is a flower farm paradise.  Owned by the same company that makes Singha Beer, this farm offers one of the most picturesque sceneries you could ever experience during your out-of-the country trip.

Singha Park has rolling hills, tea plantation, and a massive farm field to explore. It has a flower farm, and you can walk through a field of orange and pink blooms with swans calmly paddling around the lakes.  There's a zipline that will take you across the tea plantation.

Visitors can rent a bike to explore Singha Park or rent a golf cart. There's a Thai Tea Shop inside the park and near the tea plantation. 

The park has three types of golf carts for rent: 2-seaters can be rented for 600 Baht, 4-seaters for 1,000 Baht, and 6-seaters for 1,500 Baht. All rates good for two hours.

Activities you can take in Singha Park apart from sightseeing:

2. Jim Thompson Farm, Khao Yai

This farm is known for its spectacular flower farm scenery and stunning sunflower field. It offers different attractions and farm tour and allow you to harvest rice during your visit to experience the farm life in Thailand.

The breathtaking flower fields at Jim Thompson Farm in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, are seen over 600 rai of land at Payaprab Mountain. 

Jim Thompson farm was founded as a production site for silk eggs. Today, it is popular for its stunning flower fields.

3. Talay Bua Daeng (Red Lotus Lake)

The most unique flower field on this list is Talay Bua Daeng or the Red Lotus Lake. According to travelers who visited this tourist spot, the pink flowers are not actually red lotus but more of pink water lilies.

The location is quite far from Bangkok but it's a stunning view to ever missed visiting when you are in Thailand so you might as well schedule your itinerary carefully to accommodate the Red Lotus Lake destination.

Located in a quiet district in the north-eastern province of Udon Thani, the Red Lotus lake is a must-visit tourist spot in Thailand especially during the cooler months. Cold season allows carpets of pink water lilies to spring to life.

It is located approximately 40km southeast of Udon Thani city. Tourists need to rent a boat to tour around the water and see the floating water lilies. Location: Mae Kon, Mueang Chiang Rai district, Chiang Rai.

4. Flora Park

Known as the Switzerland of Isan, Flora Park offers a majestic view of the mountains and alluring floral fields. It is just within the vicinity of Jim Thompson Farm.

Flora Park has a festival that parades more than 100,000 flowers of over 20 species in full bloom. The best time to visit this flower farm is between December and February because the cool and pleasant climate provides great weather for the flowers to blossom.

5. Lopburi Sunflower Fields

While you can find places to see sunflowers around the country, Khao Chin Lae has large sunflower fields with a backdrop of mountains in Lopburi, just two hours from Bangkok.

Khao Chin Lae Sunflower Field in Lopburi offers large sunflower fields in perfect bloom, and the best time to see these blooms is from December to January. 

A tram is available to take visitors around the massive sunflower fields. Tram ride is approximately $20.00.

Sunflower Fields are found between Lop Buri and Saraburi along the Phatthana Nikhom-Wang Muang route. 

From December to January (Thai winter season), the sunflowers along the road attract all passersby when they are in full bloom. 

Ready to travel to Thailand

Check the following updated requirements from the Thai Embassy, effective January 9, 2023:
  1. Travelers entering Thailand are not required to show Proof of Vaccination or COVID-19 test results. All travelers can freely travel to Thailand without any COVID restrictions.
  2. Travelers are not required to obtain a Thailand Pass or Certificate of Entry (COE). There is no need to download any mobile app.
  3. Travel insurance is still highly recommended (but not required) for travelers' safety when entering Thailand. However, travel insurance is mandatory for all tourists who are traveling from and to countries that require RT-PCR COVID test for incoming travelers such as India and China. Insurance validity must be +7 days to the intended stay in Thailand.
